Information for Montgomery Home Buyers
Downtown Montgomery includes several historical structures dating back over a century, but it's currently known for having one of the largest selection of new construction options in the western suburbs of Chicago. New developments can be found in the southern and western portions of the city and feature homes by several of the area's most prominent builders. You can begin your search for a home in Montgomery, new or otherwise, by using my free online Montgomery Home Search. One of my latest projects is to assemble information about the many subdivisions located in the City of Montgomery. This is an ongoing project that when complete, will serve as one of the most authoritative references for Montgomery subdivisions. Get information about each community by visiting my Montgomery Subdivisions resource page. Montgomery History and Community Information
Montgomery was founded in 1832 by Jacob Carpenter who was joined in 1835 by Daniel Gray who moved to the area from Montgomery County, New York. The
early residents of the community adopted the name of Montgomery because of this connection. Daniel Gray was a bit proponent of economic development
and founded several businesses in the budding community. For this reason, he is considered the founder of the community and one of its first businessmen.
The City of Montgomery is another community inexorably connected to the railroad - particularly the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad
which built a large livestock depot in the area. To learn more about the community of Montgomery - it's history, geography,
